Welcome!

Thou-Walla means ‘meeting place’ in the Gathang Language of the Worimi People.

May we acknowledge the Worimi People who are the traditional custodians of this land and may we pay our respects to Elders past, present and future and acknowledge their spiritual connection to the land.

Thou-Walla Family Centre is a School as a Community Centre (SaCC) Project supporting families with children 0-8 years, with a focus on the early years. We offer a range of free groups including supported playgroups, parenting programs, interest groups as well as general support and referrals. New and interesting workshops, programs and projects are offered throughout the year and are promoted on this website and through our Facebook/Instagram page.

Thou-Walla Family Centre is located in the grounds of Irrawang Primary School. We are a school based local community centre and open to families from Raymond Terrace and the surrounding areas communities.

Our aim is to:

  • Promote happy, healthy children and give them a positive start to school.
  • Support parents in their role and increase their awareness of services available for families.
  • Strengthen our community by developing the school as a focus of community activity.

Our Centre can link you with other services in the local area such as:

  • Housing
  • Health
  • Welfare services
  • Family Support Services

Thou-Walla Family Centre was originally set up as part of a state-wide program called “Families NSW” and is now part of an on-going initiative through the NSW Department of Education.

New families are always welcome. Drop in for a cuppa!
